LAP. GASTRIC BYPASS SURGERY
A laparoscopic gastric bypass is a weight loss surgery that reduces the
size of the stomach and bypasses part of the small intestine. It’s also
known as keyhole surgery because it’s performed using a laparoscope,
a tiny camera that’s inserted through small incisions in the abdomen.
BENEFITS
After gastric bypass surgery, the patient can leave the hospital in about 1 to 3 days and resume regular activities in about 2 to 3 weeks. Typically, 1-2 years after laparoscopic gastric bypass surgery, significant weight loss of around 70% of the excess weight is observed.
