An intragastric balloon (IGB) is a medical device that is temporarily placed in the stomach to help with
weight loss. It’s a minimally invasive procedure that’s used when diet and exercise aren’t enough, and
surgery isn’t recommended or wanted

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Have a BMI between 30 and 40. A BMI of 30 or higher indicates obesity.
  • Have not had any previous stomach or esophageal surgery.
  • Have no in ammatory disorders of the stomach, such as ulcers or in ammatory bowel disease.
  • Have no large (≥3 cm) hiatal hernia.
  • Have no signi cant coagulation disorder or bleeding lesion of the upper gastrointestinal tract.
  • Are not pregnant or planning to become pregnant.
  • Are not under the inuence of alcohol or drugs.
  • Have no severe liver disease.
