An intragastric balloon (IGB) is a medical device that is temporarily placed in the stomach to help with
weight loss. It’s a minimally invasive procedure that’s used when diet and exercise aren’t enough, and
surgery isn’t recommended or wanted

QUALIFICATIONS
- Have a BMI between 30 and 40. A BMI of 30 or higher indicates obesity.
- Have not had any previous stomach or esophageal surgery.
- Have no in ammatory disorders of the stomach, such as ulcers or in ammatory bowel disease.
- Have no large (≥3 cm) hiatal hernia.
- Have no signi cant coagulation disorder or bleeding lesion of the upper gastrointestinal tract.
- Are not pregnant or planning to become pregnant.
- Are not under the inuence of alcohol or drugs.
- Have no severe liver disease.
